I face difficulties when switching to other chords. Is there an easy way to learn switching?

Try using a metronome; something that you can go along with. Change chords every four beats reduce it down to 1 beat per measures every 2min and jump up the tempo by ten once you're getting the hang of it, or play along with songs. It is the most straightforward approach.

What should be the primary goal of every drummer ?

Have patience, and practice practice practice. Use a metronome, and don't learn new techniques unless you're a beginner. Stick to what you know and master it.
