IdentityI have been working as a Special Educator. For the past eight and half years, I have worked with diverse groups of students with ADD/ADHD, Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Learning Disabilities, Speech Impairment and Non-Compliant Behaviour, ranging from the age group of 2 to 9 years. My skill and knowledge in differentiated instruction, assistive
technology and multi-sensory lesson planning have enabled me to meet the needs of every child I have worked with.
Following my KHDA certification, I held the Post of SEN Supervisor in my previous organisation and primarily dealt with the Early Years and the Primary Phase. I had many students under my wing. I was responsible for the class observation, delegating tasks to Learning Support Assistants and guiding teachers and Co-teachers in supporting children with various needs. I was responsible for designing IEPs and IBP and visited fortnightly to evaluate each child's progress. Apart from that, I also carried out individual sessions for children with high Behavioural Concerns and held several seminars to support and guide parents and teachers.
During my tenure, I was also a part of 2 KHDA evaluations.
As a professional, I have researched several effective ways to make every child's learning experience more meaningful and never think twice about going the extra mile to make learning more meaningful for each student. Every child is a strong and capable individual who makes a valuable contribution to society and has individual needs, and we are responsible for supporting them. I have received positive feedback from parents for the unique techniques and approaches I adopt while working with my students.
I also possess experience working in a multicultural environment (domestic and
international). Therefore I am aware of different curriculums, norms and regulations, such as ComDEALL (Communication Developmental Eclectic Approach to Language Learning), KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority, UAE), Te Whãriki (NewZealand Curriculum), the Reggio Emilia Approach, Education for Sustainability Approach and Montessori.
