Dr Murlidhar Nambiar

Dr. Murli Nambiar has 40 years of leadership experience having served in the Armed Forces, start-ups, and global organizations of repute. He was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery of the Indian Army in 1982. He held various command, instructional, and staff assignments during his career of over 25 years in the Indian Army. Has been a veteran of several operations, and participated in IPKF operations in Sri Lanka, the Kargil war, and insurgency operations in J&K. <br/>He has the distinction of training over 5000 students in leadership, personality development, and community development programs from various institutions in Karnataka and Chhattisgarh. Some of the prominent institutions he was associated with are Christ University, Jain University, St Joseph’s University, CMR University, Garden City University, Bishop Cotton Boys School, Cathedral School, Baldwins Boys School, and Venkat International School. In recognition of his excellence in training, he was selected to lead the Indian NCC delegation to Singapore in 2005 for the International Cadet Exchange Program (ICEP) where delegations from the US, the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Brunei participated. He had the distinction of sending maximum students to represent India in youth exchange programs in the UK, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. Received the ‘Best Institution’ awards for both Boys and Girls wing awarded by NCC Directorate Karnataka and Goa, while heading the NCC outfit as joint Director. <br/>After their Army tenure, he did the regular ‘Executive Management Program’ at XLRI Jamshedpur. Thereafter he joined ‘Tutor Vista’ a start-up company as Head of HR and Operations. During this tenure, did 3 successful mergers and acquisitions (M&A), built a strong organization of more than 3500 employees organization, and an accomplished management team. This start-up was one of the few successful start-ups in the Edu Tech space and was acquired for $ 220 million by ‘Pearson’ a global leader in the education and publications industry with a presence in more than 36 countries. He headed the HR function for ‘Pearson Education Services’. <br/>After his tenure with Pearson, Dr Murli joined ‘Manipal Global Education’ in 2014 as Head of HR and was responsible for the entire HR activities of more than 5000 employees of both corporate entities and 3 Manipal Universities in India, 3 University campuses in Malaysia, Dubai, Nepal, and Antigua University campuses. He was a Board Director of Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG) Nepal from 2014 to 2020. Thereafter he served as COO of MEMG Nepal at Pokhara, managing a 750-bed hospital, a medical college, and other business interests of Manipal group in Nepal. <br/>Dr Murli is a life member of NHRD, NIPM, and ISTD and has done his PhD in Management. He is a certified leadership and career coach. Has conducted several leadership programs for students and corporate professionals. Conceptualized and implemented a ‘Talent Management Program” to build a pipeline of future leaders to cater to the growth plans of the Manipal group. He is also a certified ‘Assessment Centre Analyst from Carlton Advance Management Institute. <br/>He provides career counseling, coaching, mentoring, and leadership programs for students and working professionals. He is a certified career counselor with ICCC certification from Mindler and Edumilestones. <br/>Dr Murli Nambiar is a visiting faculty with various B schools in Bangalore. He is also a Professor of Practice in HR &OB with Oxford Business School of Management in Bangalore.
