Overview

I am a self taught Harmonica ( mouth organ ) player and have been playing the instrument since my childhood for the last over 30 years. Born in a family of Hindustani Classical musicians and was trained on Tabla playing for many years. I am an engineer by qualification and a musician by passion.
Informally, I have been teaching harmonica for many years now. But started training people formally by doing Harmonica Workshops little over 4 years back. Currently, I am conducting weekend classes at my residence.

I started to teach the harmonica by doing a 2 days workshop in 2012. There was a great interest shown by students which led to more workshops and eventually weekend classes at my home. I love teaching the harmonica and like to pour my heart out for the students who love to learn it with equal passion !

"My daughter has been learning Harmonica for the last 2 years. She started when she was 7 years old. Since then she has made great progress. CK has this knack to explain Harmonica concepts well to kids. He is very patient and gentle in his approach. Initially the classes were face to face but with the onset of COVID we have moved to online classes. I would strongly recommend CK for Harmonica classes. He is a great teacher. "

Is it easy to play Diatonic Harmonica? For me as a beginner, can I play songs on Diatonic Harmonica?

It is easy to play a diatonic harmonica but challenging to build advanced skills like bending, tongue blocking, overblows etc. You can play songs composed in C major scale ( all white piano notes) on a key of C diatonic harmonica by regular blowing and drawing. It is easy to play a diatonic harmonica but challenging to build advanced skills like bending, tongue blocking, overblows etc. You can play songs composed in C major scale ( all white piano notes) on a key of C diatonic harmonica by regular blowing and drawing. But for minor scale songs (which requires black notes on the piano), you need to learn and master bending of notes. I hope this answers your query to some extent.
