Can a man learn Kathak?

In any dance form there is no restrictions except mohini attam, so man also can learn kathak

Which is better, Kathak or Bharatanatyam?

Both has its own place and it is your wish to select which you wish to learn, if you are interested in expression abhinaya and foot work you can opt for bharatnatyam, if you are interested in chakars and foot work kathak is best option. By the wne of the day it's both has its own significance

Why is Yakshagana not listed in the official classical dance forms of India?

Yakshgana is a folk dance drama of india and not classical dance form. Bharat muni author of natya shastravidhim said to be father of dance mentioned 7 forms of classical dance wiz, Bharathanatyam, kathakali, kuchipudi, odissi, kathak, mohiniyattam, manipuri. Yakshagana will come under folk form. ...more

Why is the Mohiniyattam not yet declared as a classical dance?

No, mohiniyattak is classical dance of india only which belong to Kerala state. It meant to be originated by mohini avatara of Lord vishnu. And mainly perfromed and practiced by womens
