IdentityI have been a student of Yoga for fourteen years now. I started my practice when I was in school; while most of us didn't take our extra-curricular Yoga class too seriously, for forty-five minutes, once a week, we found ourselves paying a little bit more attention than usual to our awkward adolescent bodies. As an adult, and as a teacher now, I understand that even a little shift in attention and focus inward to our bodies, our breath, and with some effort our thoughts as well, can make a meaningful difference to our physical and mental wellness.
I received my teacher training certification in Yoga Therapy from The Yoga Institute, Mumbai, in 2016, and have been working as a personal Yoga therapist, and group instructor since. I have also completed my Masters in Publishing and Writing from Emerson College, Boston (2019).
I think there is immense value in building a Yoga practice at every age—it can help individuals learn self-love, manage the natural stressors of various developmental stages, and promote mindfulness.
As someone who was gifted the practice of Yoga (even before I could fully understand its value), I would love the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with others, while continuing to grow as a student myself.
