Teaching English at the Cambridge Group of Institutions to students from 1st to 3rd standard and 7th to 10th standard was a deeply rewarding experience. For the younger students, my approach focused on interactive and play-based learning to maintain their engagement and foster a love for language. Positive reinforcement through rewards like stickers and stars helped build their confidence and motivation. With the older students, my strategy shifted towards developing critical thinking, comprehensive reading, and effective communication skills. Interactive discussions on various topics improved their speaking and analytical abilities, while a mix of classic literature and contemporary articles enhanced their reading comprehension. Creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment was central to my teaching philosophy. Personalized feedback showed students that their efforts were valued, motivating them to improve continuously. Encouraging creativity through projects boosted their confidence and imagination. Setting achievable goals provided clear direction and a sense of purpose in their learning journey. The joy and progress seen in the younger students when they mastered new words, and the insightful essays and discussions from the older students, were testaments to their growth. This experience reinforced my belief in the transformative power of education and the importance of nurturing a love for learning in students of all ages.
