Zone of proximal development
- This is the gap between the actual development level of a person, as determined by independent problem solving and the level of potential development as determined through problem-solving under adult guidance or in collaboration with more capable peers.
- Zone of proximal development defines those function that has not yet matured but is in the process of maturation.
- Scaffolding (a term created by Bruner, wood and Ross used in Vygotsky's socio-culture theory ) describes the interaction between adult and child.
