As Corona is spreading in the almost entire world, the situation of parents/ families is very critical as such cases keep them worrying about their children and other family members.
For Parents, this is the most crucial phase as they have to take care of their children’s health with proper psychological understanding. Understanding children’s problems, their worries and keep them relax is the most tedious task for parents in this pandemic. The most important task for parents to make their children comfortable and less anxious. Stress also makes children worry and anxious. Parents should talk to their children regularly about their feelings and their worries in this outbreak.
They keep on trying and ask questions to their children about their views and their several doubts about the current situation. Whenever you see, a negative emotion developing in your child, try to incorporate and practise mental health exercises which help to deal you with negative and uncomfortable feelings.
Try to incorporate more conversations about mental health and its related issues which keeps your children more relax and unwind. Talk openly with children about what they feel, their likes and dislikes, and what they want to prefer in this outbreak time. Talking makes children comfortable will relieve your worries as well as theirs too.
Encourage their expression through creative activities and build their memorandum, which keeps them motivated. In small children, there is a constant feeling of being alone and sadness, try to make them calm and relax with stories and playful activities.
Engage your kids in educational activities like workbooks, Educational games. Participate in family routines and planning strategies to enhance health promotion behaviours. For children limit media exposure, talking about what they have seen/heard and address stigma, prejudice and potential injustices occurring during an outbreak.
Parenting is difficult in general, but during such a crisis, it is tough to deal with their behavioural issues.
