As this is my first lesson on Urban Pro, so I thought to write something that can benefit you at a beginner level :)
I'm a Multimedia Professional, a Faculty in the same field as well, doing well in my profession. To share the knowledge I have is my hobby since my early childhood, and I'll continue it until my last breath! Professional details about me, you'll get in my profile.
Now let’s begin the class.
Before getting your first step in the field, actually in any area, you should know at least basics about that particular field. In general, if I say, so, first of all, you should know the what and how of the field, the scope, and most importantly, your interest...is it that you can do efficiently, or something else is better for you...???
For Multimedia & Designing field, some people might say that you should be good at computers, or you should be good at drawing, but believe me, the best student of mine, is also one who's very poor at drawing. Seriously, but as I said, she's my best student, I meant it! She's a good designer, as well as from commerce field too! I mean, there is no bar on the student that you should be from arts, science, commerce or any particular subject in high school or intermediate. Anybody can join the field without any pre-requisite degree.
It may sound shocking for some people, but all you need to be a good designer is the creativity. The imagination power. How much you can think of something, in how many ways you can interpret a design. That’s what matters. Everyone has their unique potential, and calibre.
Now let's interpret some rumours & myths that confuse our lovely & sweet students :)
To join a design field, you need to have:
Good Computer Knowledge: No! Every Institution teaches student basics of computers before starting the multimedia software. So you will get this thing when you join.
Fluent Drawing Skills: Not Mandatory, although a plus point! If the child has enthusiasm and passion for creating new things and exciting designs, drawing skills are not necessary. You will not use pencil and paper to figure out a design. Instead, computer graphics will be created by you. All you need is to have an understanding point of view.
Contacts in Industry: Not at all! :D If you'll become a good designer, you will create connections yourself. It is just a magical spell to keep the innocent students out of the field as the above rumours are taken as true by our elders.
Creativity and Passion: Must and the only requirement, to be a successful designer. All you need is this, and rest depends upon your command over software tools, which will be generated by practice.
So these were some negative points that you may come across, but make the final decision yours! Because, "If you do a thing that you don't want to, you can't do it at your best. However, if you do what you want, then no one can do it better than you!"
You will come across many Bhaiyas, Didis, Govt. job wale uncles and many more people around you who have achieved excellent heights in career but they will be negative about this field like, " it's about your luck. Kuch hona Nii h isme, agr luck lag gya kahin se tabhi success possible hai etc. " hahaha...!
But all these are the influence of above rumours on them! Even I, myself have changed minds of my many relatives and neighbours.
One more thing that I think is necessary is that people say that students who are weak in the study and so, are choosing design and animation field. That's what makes me lose temper and I want to strike them lol..!! But it's not true at all, its hurting :c Animation and design are also a field of study. These are a totally practical field that requires more attention and hard work than the so-called study like B.Tech, BCA, and all.... I'm not criticising any course or field, but just saying that we, multimedians also study, and keep exploring every day, because there is a new challenge, a new design, a new update coming in the market every day! Even I've always been a meritorious student of my times, since my early childhood to my latest education. So I completely deny this.
Finally, guys and girls, I'll suggest you join the field as it has a very fast, wide and exciting scope in industry, and also you can get different jobs like that of a graphic artist, animator, 3d modeller, video editor and many more by doing just one multimedia program. Even I started my career one year before completing my diploma course :)
All you need is to read this lesson thoroughly, explore multimedia yourself and then question yourself that
"Do you have that power which can make you the Designer of the Century...??"
