Few best things which you can do to enhance your proficiency are (i) make speaking in 'English' routine habit so you may be at home or with your friends, cousins or other (be mindful that always speak slowly and are conscious of what you speaking, word used). Believe it or not first few days this exercise will actually make you look odd but this will just be a temporary phase and after a week you and people around you should get used to it. (ii) make reading in English a regular habit (take one newspaper or a news magazine... go for simple ones like DNA, The Week etc.) (iii) Also start thinking in 'English' ... i.e. when ever any person is in thoughts or thinking about anything or situation he by default tends to think or speak to himself subconsciously in his mother tongue. So in such situation simply replace your language (in thoughts) with 'English'. (this is said to be one of the best way to enhance proficiency) (iv) make listening in 'English' your regular habit. So this could be English movies, tele serials, knowledge base programs, etc. (the above mentioned steps were the one's which I followed).
