while teaching I mostly relate the topics to an example which can be easily remembered by the student. I may use my laptop to make them understand better.
according to me if you learn something then you gained many things and if you memorized anything then you did not learnt any thing. so don't just memorize the topic, try to learn it and understand it.

Also, we would generally assume that there is a steady flow of current throughout the wire such that the current in all segments of the wire is uniform. Therefore, the direction is assumed to known, and often its specific direction is unimportant for many simple electrical applications, and all one need know is its magnitude (the scalar quantity).
