I am not sure about how Akshara was earlier, but I'm very sorry to say that currently it is in bad shape. Children who study here have no present or future. It claims to but does not follow the Montessori principals. Freedom being the first rule of Montessori, does not exist here. Children are forced to work all the time. They do not have any syllabus, basically children repeat the same thing from pre primary till the tenth standard. Sophie herself beats children and pinches them. Parents fall for the environment, which is very beautiful. She also 'shows off' books of the pre primary children where they have written compositions on their own. Do not fall for this trap, as if your child is in Akshara, they will continue to write the same compositions for the next 10 years as the topics are repeated. Look at any class child and you will find an essay written on 'akshara'. Teachers keep changing, the span that each teacher has is also large in number, which becomes very difficult to handle. Admissions happen all through the year. Children are judged all the time. There are children who are 7+ yrs of age and who have not yet gone to 1st standard because Sophie does not approve of them going! Teachers change all the time, there is no Math teacher! Importance is given only to Botany. It is poorly run unproffesional school!
DO NOT PUT YOUR CHILDREN IN THIS SCHOOL! OR IF YOUR CHILD IS STUDYING HERE, REMOVE THEM IMMEDIATELY!

When my wife and me first went to this school for my son's admission it was bit difficult to find the place, it is placed deep inside the forest, the access route is very bad but manageable, that should not matter a person who wants better education can go to any corner of the earth, altogether a cool place with trees around and old building. I was excited to meet the principal (Ms Sophie Shivashankar) of the school and have my son's admission done.
When we entered the Principals cabin, she asked who gave you the reference for this school, it was our friend from our society where we stay whose children also come to this school. She asked about our son, so we said he has writing disability (dyslexia) all other things are good he is going to another regular school, we only came here because of the learning methods which can improve my son's issue, and we came here so that we get good guidance for our son.
She said with a great attitude that NO I cannot take him here, you need a special school for him. She even did not do an assessment of my son before concluding even she did not speak to my son.
BTW my son is going to a regular school and he does all his homework's. My son was selected in a regular school after assessment if he really had issues the school would have told us to go to a special school.
This is not expected by Teacher who has 40 years' experience in teaching, this proves that she does not even know about child psychology if she did the assessment of my son and then conclude, we would have accepted it. But this type of behaviour from a Principal is not expected.
She was also criticizing other schools and praising her school and method of teaching, which is not good ethics.
If this is behaviour from 40 years' experienced teacher, how can she manage other kids? Shame on this institute to have Principal like her.

I am head of the management of T. Dasarahalli . I wanted to make a comment on Team Akshara (management). There is too many people in the management. I went there to take my son for admission. The management was ready to give admission a dumbass science sir did not agree to let my son in. I complained to the very big management but there were so many members that they forgot. So I would like to wish science sir that if you are married , if you have a daughter or son then by mistakenly also don’t get admission in akshara because you can’t afford the fees. I had asked him if he had Harley Davidson and he said yes but later I saw him come in 150 cc Cb shine that also second hand.
