1. When and why did you choose to become a Spoken English tutor?
Ans: Since childhood, I wanted to become a teacher. 8 years back, I got an opportunity to start teaching Spoken English. I have observed that many students, including well-qualified candidates, are unable to speak fluently, and they failed miserably in the interviews and the competitive exams. To help such students overcome their difficulties, I chose to become a Spoken English tutor, and I have successfully improved the English language skills among such students. Before joining UrbanPro, I was associated with the British Council, conducting various exams.
2. What skills are required to become a Spoken English tutor?
Ans: Thorough knowledge of the subject, understanding the exact difficulties faced by candidates, scheduling proper curriculum for a specific need, effectively handling the queries, being compassionate, politeness and humbleness, perseverance, enriched vocabulary and pronunciation skills, refining and redefining the mental blockage regarding both speaking and writing skills of English language and a lot of patience to motivate the candidates are some of the desired skills which should be possessed by a teacher.
3. How did you come across UrbanPro.com?
Ans: I came across UrbanPro through social media and some of my colleagues who were teaching on this platform.
4. What distinguishes you from other Spoken English tutors?
Ans: The basic expectation from a teacher is to identify the weakness of the candidates and work on strengthening those skills accordingly. I have been able to understand the exact concern of the students and I try to resolve these issues individually. Every candidate is unique, having different issues and accordingly, I choose my strategies while teaching the students.
5. What percentage of your students do you typically get from UrbanPro?
Ans: 70% of my students are from UrbanPro.
6. What are your top recommendations to tutors who want to get more students?
Ans: A good teacher should be very caring, attentive, punctual and able to address the issues faced by the students. Tutors should be flexible, polite and understanding. The tutor should be approachable and affectionate which will further instil confidence among students.

Oindrilla has been conducting Spoken English classes for the past 6 years. She resides in Bidhan Nagar Ib, Kolkata and can take both online and offline classes. Oindrilla holds an L.L.B degree from the University of Calcutta in the year 2018. She is well-versed in English and Bengali.
