Mantra yoga in India

Mantra Yoga

One can trace down the existence of the mantra yoga long back to the Hindu Vedic ages. Mantra has an indissoluble spiritual connotation that takes up a man close to the Supreme Lord. However, over time mantra yoga has not been restricted to chanting the name of God and on the contrary it has become a great way of meditation.

Mantra yoga requires you being acutely concentrated and perfectionist. Mantra yoga is a little more intricate when compared to other yogic postures as you have to remember the mantra or the words of mediation properly. This is so as without chanting the right words you might fail to achieve the true ambition of your meditation. However, practicing the same over time makes you remembering the mantra properly without fail.

Mantra yoga although an integral innovation of Hinduism, has been adopted and developed by different religions in the Indian sub-continent. Now the effect and the popularity have spread to remote corners of the planet. Religions like Buddhism and Jainism have embraced Mantra yoga overwhelmingly.

It is believed that chanting mantra or the syllable or even the spiritual words does not only enhance your faith in God but at the same time mantra yoga is perfect for its manifold benefits. Mantra yoga is beneficial for developing concentration. Chanting mantra is also good for the breathing system overall. This yoga removes impurity from within and bestows a strengthened immune system to the practitioner.

You may be keen knowing the process how to practice mantra yoga after knowing the miraculous effects of this yoga. Practicing mantra yoga is simple. You can concentrate more on this yoga when you are able to collect a mala or rosary made of 108 bids. This number is significant in all Tantra and Veda in the Hindu religion.

Practicing mantra yoga:

  1. Sit in any of the three postures: Padmasana, Sukhasana or Siddhasana.
  2. Chant your mantra for the next 3 hours while concentrating on your guru or God.
  3. Start in the wee hours of the morning

You may select any time of the day being perfect for practicing mantra yoga but the best time for the same is the early morning or in the evening just after the sunset. Make sure the atmosphere where you are practicing the yoga is calm and devoid of any noise. This serene ambiance is an absolute necessity for centering the acute concentration during the yoga.
