I started programming when I was 7 years old. I developed my first website when I was 8 and started my Web Development company when I was 15 years old. One thing I learned is never attend any coaching classes for programming or any skill development of that sort. This is how I did it: 1: I got my self a spare computer and installed linux server. (Make sure you don't go with GUI, the console is the best option to learn programming as everything you need to type in) 2: Make mistakes, format your server, re-install again screw up then do it again and again until you do it properly. 3: I would then buy second hand PHP books and read and practice it. I would then change the default given codes to suit my needs. 4: Once you do some practice, get a paid server from any host. Nothing gives you more happiness and satisfaction than seeing your tiny program go live. Share this with your friends and relatives. Them using it and giving you feedback would boost your confidence and would give you idea. 5: I kept doing this and started finding problems and tried solving it through PHP and there you go. I can call myself a quite successful entrepreneur and in corporate world, people call me Mr Google because I know the basics of how things work and I have a solution to any but all problems. I have some new innovative ideas and I have a team thus we invented a product based on electrical. Our idea is to join to a big company as partners and should sell our product to india.
