RBIAssistant Syllabus

There are four sections in the written exam. The study topics to be covered under these sections:

1. Reasoning

The reasoning section includes the following topics:

Reasoning:

• Venn Diagram

• Coding Decoding

• Odd Man Out

• Image Analysis

• Figure Matrix

Series:

• Number Series

• Seating Arrangements

• Word-alphabet Orders

Analogy:

• Syllogism

• Statement Conclusion

• Cause and Effect

Reasoning section is the high scoring part of the exam and if the candidate saves time here, the available time can be used for problem solving sections.

2. English Language

The English Language section covers the following topics:

• Synonym/Antonym based questions

• Tenses

• Verbs

• Preposition based questions

These could be fill in the blank type questions or identifying errors and sentence correction questions

•  Comprehension – Questions are based on a given paragraph or a topic

3. Numerical Ability

The Numerical Ability section tests the problem solving ability of a candidate in a given time period. Below are the topics covered:

• Commercial Mathematics:

  • Percentages

  • Profit/Loss

  • Partnerships

  • Ratio-Proportions.

• Geometry and Mensuration:

  • Area

  • Volume and Perimeter based questions for Plain figures and Solids.

• Arithmetic:

  • Time-Distance

  • Ages

  • Boats-Streams

  • Clocks

  • Calendars

  • Mixtures and Alligations

  • Number Theory

  • Squares and Roots

  • Fractions and Decimals

  • H.C.F and L.C.M

• Questions in the problem solving section are of tougher standards. Additionally, it is important to have basic knowledge in topics like Frequency Polygon, Bar-Diagram, and Pie-Chart.

4. General Awareness

If a candidate is up to date in current affairs then this section is a high scoring section. In the current affairs candidates should pay more attention to Banking & Finance Sector and News related to RBI. Additionally, topics to be studied for this section are:

• Indian History

• Economy

• National-International News

• Popular Books and Authors

• Science and Technology

5. Computer Knowledge

This section is a scoring section as the questions asked test only the basic computer knowledge. The topics to be covered in this section are:

• Basic of Computers

• Generations of Computer

• Input & Output Device

• Basics of Microsoft word, Excel and Power Point.

• Basic knowledge of what is Internet, LAN, WAN

• Basic Troubleshooting -This also includes understanding of virus, antivirus, security threats and precautions.

Questions can also be related to the day to day operations users perform on a computer.
