The onus in Quantitative aptitude should be on attacking the basics and trying out a plethora of problems of varying varieties.

Hence, to start with , for better elementary understanding one can refer 8th and 9th mathematics CBSE pattern of books for better grasp.

Having gained a reasonable grasp one can refer any competent authors of aptitude.While doing so, along with keeping in mind the shortcuts, for attaining real mastery in aptitude,it is better to derive the shortcuts.

This is particularly recommended both when one wishes to generate new shortcuts for variety of problems and when one faces tricky twisted questions.
