It can be solved easily by using Uniform acceleration equation: V=u+at ( where V= final velocity of the object, u = initial velocity, a = acceleration, t = time at which the velocity to be calculated)
Simply Putting the given value in equations: As initial velocity " u " is not given in the problem , assuming the trolley starts from rest, Therefore u=0, a= 2 cm /s^2 , t (given) = 3s ( given), V= final velocity after 3 sec to be calculated?
V= 0+(2x3) = 6cm/s or 0.06 m/s
Therefore Velocity after 3 sec will be 0.06 m/s

First of all, One needs to understand the fundamental difference between Displacement and Distance; Displacement is vector Qty which has Magnitude as well as direction (For ex: I travelled 100m in north direction ) whereas distance has the only Magnitude ( For ex: I went 50 km ). Therefore Displacement could be zero if the Initial point and endpoint are the same but covered a certain distance. Ex: If a man starts running in a stadium having a circular track and reach back to its Initial point after 1 round, Then the Total distance covered here is Circumference of circular path whereas the Displacement is Zero as the initial point and endpoint are same.
