To understand the concept of PHP, you need to know or revise ( if you already familiar) little background of web architecture. There is a client (web browser) and a server (somewhere on planet a machine having web pages which browser can request). Long time back these web pages used to be static( server sent the file as it is written by developer). With the advancement of technology, we need web pages to be build on request. Here PHP came into the picture. Developer write a html code file as we used to do in static web pages with an additional tag of php and file extension is changed from html to php. Now whenever a request comes for a php page, server run all php code in page and put corresponding html code in page and send it to client. So at client side, page only contain html, css and java script but not php code. read less
