The class is designed to help students of 1st and 2nd year Electrical and Electronics Engineering branches with fundamental understanding of Electrical Engineering. Its a foundational course to cover basics of Electrical Engineering
The course will cover high level view of
- Sources of Electricity and Electrical current
- Electrical circuits, componments like resistors and capacitors, most common electric circuit designs
- Electrical measurements - units and definitions, and the methods of recording these measurements
- Electrical measurement devices and common lab instruments, Electrical safety considerations in the lab
- DC and AC currents
- Overview of Electrical devices like transformers, motors, etc
- Basic Electronics, P-N Junctions, Diodes
- Common electronic circuit designs
- Examples of application of electronic circuits in Instrumentation
- Overview of Power Eletronics
- Overview of Control Systems and Linear Integrated Circuits
- Basics of Digital Electronics and Gates
- Coomon logical circuit designs
- Overview of Integrated Circuits
Please note that this course doesn't have any pre-requisites. The course would run for a duration of 10 weeks with 4 hours per week classes.
