Yes, Bengali language is totally different from Hindi Language, it is widely spoken in West Bengal, and it has a different writing script from Hindi, Though you may find some common words or similar words in both the languages. One important difference between both the languages is that in Hindi everything is defined on a gender basis, which is not the case in Bengali, "Aami Aaschi" is applicable for both the genders. But in Hindi, it is "Main Aata Hoon" for male and "Main Aati hoon" for female.
