The world is getting smaller. The companies more and more are working internationally. So, it is natural that the knowledge of languages is now an important factor for your career. No wonder that a growing number of people are starting to learn a new language.
Why do I write this text? Because the breakdown rate in the German language exams are around 80%.
Obviously the students have some problems. Why?
Here are the main reasons I have found out:
1) The main issue is the understanding of the German language in the part of the exam, where the students have to listen to an audio CD containing original German voices. Most of the students have had an indian teacher or even no teacher. So they are not used to the German pronounciation.
2) The students underestimate the test.
3) The vocabulary was not learned good enough.
4) The vocabulary was not learned in full: The students missed to learn the gender and the plural of the nouns or the conjugation of the (irregular) verbs or their time forms.
The solutions:
For 1) Train your pronounciation. Train it in listening and speaking. Be exactly with it. Use the audio CD included in your training book, use the existing youtube tutorials, later use original German language media like songs, movies, audiobooks aso. Use an original German teacher.
for 2) and 3) and 4) Prepare yourself properly. Learn all the words given in your training books. Learn always the genders and plurals together with the translation, execise the declinations, the conjugations, exercise building sentences.
Generally most of the students underestimates the time which is needed to learn a new language. The most given question to me is: "How long?". The only possible true answer to this can only be: "It depends on you"
If you learn intensively you can successfully pass the next exam in 3 months. But this means: Learn every day 1 hour. Take care of my here given tips! Visit a good teacher. If you are not able to do this it will last longer of course.
Then and only then you can save the 8-10k Rupees for an unsuccessful exam.
I am quite sure that what I have written here also counts for learning other languages.
