It really depends upon how nicely you have studied/followed the topics covered so far in your college semesters. Since you are in 2nd year only, you have the gift of time. You should focus on the lectures in your semesters for now.

Both are good. However, please avoid institutes like Gate Forum. They will offer low tuition fee and huge discounts. However, the GATE course material is of poor quality and faculties is mostly freshers.

Almost same except Architecture. However, Some subjects are interchanged between 1st sem and 2nd sem for some departments.
