Dhyaana slokam is the ritual verse that a dancer recites as a prayer to Lord Shiva, the cosmic dancer. This verse goes like this.
“Aangikam bhuvanam yasya vaachikam- sarva vaangmayam
Aahaaryam chandra thaaraadhee -Tham Numah saathavikam Shivam.”
The verse hence says:
"His(Ld Shiva's) body is the entire universe. His speech is the entire universe's language. His ornaments are the moon and stars. I bow to you, oh Lord Shiva."
The dancer thus bows to Ld Shiva, whose body is this whole universe, whose speech is the words we all speak and who adorns himself with the bright moon and stars.
In my personal view, a dancer recites this sloka and feels the lord in him/her. Dance is limited in movements but is ne'er limited in emotions. The dancer could even reach the sky with the movement through her emotions.
