Effective study Habits, we are creature of our habits. Substitute bad habits of learning with good habits of learning.
- Right attitude. Approach the material you are studying with right attitude. Get interested in the material you are studying. When you like something you learn more. Study for knowledge not just for passing an exam.
- Right schedule. Choose the time when your mind is fresh and packed with energy. After breakfast your mind has enough glucose, energy and learning is better.
- Attention: Learning is proportional to the amount of attention you pay. Every moment you are doing something, more attention you pay to the material you are studying more is the learning.
- Stay away from distraction. Distraction is self-sabotage. Your mind is thinking so many things at one time, it is running. Stay focused on the material you are studying. Do not think other thoughts while studying.
- Choose the right place. Library is the best place to study, always make your own library at home. The best gift parents can give to their children is a good library.
- Outline the material, rewrite, structure the material you are studying in your own words, then you will learn more.
- Involve all your senses while studying, eyes, ears, writing with hands, thinking with mind, speaking important words while studying makes much better learning.
- Take small breaks to refresh. Choose some activity involving physical activity like playing some game or you may snack with nuts or some fruit.
- Practise, more your practise more you learn, bicycling.
- Review, revise your material regularly after few days.
- Study groups. Form study groups to discuss what you have learnt.
- Start teaching. When you teach to others what you have learnt, you learning is more effective.
