An adverb is a word that modifies to a verb, an adjective or another adverb.
Eg: He runs slowly.
Here slowly is an adverb. The adverb give us more information.
Types of adverb:
There are five types of adverb:
1. Adverb of time: These words are used to show time of an action.
Eg: I wake up early in the morning.
The doctor arrived soon.
Here early and soon words are showing time that's why they are adjective.
2. Adverb of place: Show the place where something has happened.
Eg: He went there.
They sat down.
Here the words there and down are showing place.
3. Adverb of manner: These adverbs are used to show that in what way an action is taking place.
Eg: He writes legibly.
She sings beautifully.
He runs slowly.
Here the words legibly, beautifully, slowly are showing how an action is taking place.
4. Adverb of degree: These adverb are used to show the extent of an action.
Eg: The bottle is half-filled.
The work is almost done.
Here the words half and almost are adverb of degree.
5. Adverb of frequency: These show how many times an action is happening.
Eg: Always, daily, never, etc.
I always go to temple.
He never fight.
