The bond formed due to sharing of electrons between two atoms is called a covalent bond. The electrons of one atom are attracted towards the nucleus (protons + neutrons) of the other atom and vice versa. This bond is reversible as there is no transfer of electrons like an ionic bond. Carbon can share its four unpaired electrons with another carbon atom to form inter carbon covalent bonds or share them with other atoms like Cl, H, NH3, etc.
