You can proceed with your decision. Its really good. As an engineering student from CSE, i can say that its really good to go with AWS. I am also planning for taking AWS certification, as its booming now in the market. To join AWS you don't need any pre-requisite. But for DevOps, you must have basic knowledge of Linux.

Its like "Grass on the other side is always green". If you are good at Finance, I would receommend to stick to Finance domain. However, if you have made up your mind, while it is also true that most of the IT guys are highly paid than any support department, AWS and Devops is a good choice.
I would strongly suggest thayou you should have basic knowledge on multiple things like:
1. Linux and Windows Systems administration (this will cover most of the topics for setting up AWS system)
2. Networking (LAN, WAN, Routing, etc)
3. Basics of Security
4. DevOps will be the next step after completion of above Course including AWS.
Hope that answers your query. Wish you good luck for your career

It would be great if you can go-ahead with Hadoop and data scientist as the future is here. Combinly once after you finish these courses and start your career either in bigdata or data scientist, in the future you may praobably go-ahead with IoT and Ciber Security upcomingly...and which decides your career in IT for the next 20-30yrs long..believe me..All the Best

As they say "Grass on the oter side is always Green". My advise to you would be, if you are good at Finance, you should stick to Finance and grow in same domain. Managers and upper level are also highly paid jobs in India and abroad in Finance domain.
However, if you have made up your mind to move to DevOps which is also high paying job, You will need basic knowledge on 3 things :
1. Any OS (Linux or Windows Systems administration) - This will help you to know how to connect remotely, manage hardware and resources on Cloud.
2. AWS or Azure or GCP knowledge will certainly help you to understand how to deploy codes on Cloud platform and then do monitoring and testing
3. Basics of Networking will help you to troubleshoot your application and issues
In DevOps you will learn automation, Scripting, Monitoring (Nagios), Automatic Deployment of codes (using Chef/Puppet) etc (Configuration Management), Python etc.
Happy Learning and wish you good Luck !
