You have already learned about the number line and representation of various types of numbers in your earlier classes. In this chapter, you’ll study about rational and irrational numbers, descriptively. It gives in-depth exposure to Real Numbers and Their Decimal Expansions, Laws of Exponents for Real Numbers, Operations on Real Numbers and several other topics. A number r is called a rational number if it can be written in the form p/q, where p and q are integers and q ≠ 0.
